get priceEmail Contact13/01/2006 Back to the orignal question>>>> A floating deck mower does not make that much more of a bigger difference when it comes to scalping. On small steep slopes I have found that a floating deck is more lickley top scalp than a fixed deck. The biggest differece is the ability to change cutting heghts easily. A fixed deck can only be adjusted up in down a few inches

I wish the fixed deck was an option on the big full size WBs, but Ive never seen one on

Floating decks respond well to bumps or inconsistencies in a given terrain. Examples of Wright's floating deck mowers include our Stander X™ and Sport ...

get priceEmail Contact11/07/2006 The primarly problem with the 48" deck on the ZTR is working parallel to slopes. The floating deck will more likely leave a sea-saw effect than the 36" floating deck. Also, when working around the base of trees, the fixed deck will not gouge as easily on the outside edge as the wider, floating deck.

The fabricated decks also tend to be free-floating and/or chain hung on the upper models versus fixed ...

get priceEmail Contact06/07/2011 Any rotary mower of decent size is going to scalp in places at 1". Personally, I'd be using a reel mower if I wanted my Bermuda at 1". If you want to just discuss scalping differences between a floating and fixed deck the answer is obvious. Floating decks are less prone to scalp or nobody would buy them.

get priceEmail ContactThe Difference between an Attached Deck and a Floating Deck. Let’s start with the most fundamental difference between the two structures. The name is a bit misleading; and ...

get priceEmail Contact25/04/2019 Stand on lawn mowers come in two styles – fixed-deck and floating-deck. The fixed deck stand on lawn mowers offers a lower price point, which can help entice one to choose them over a traditional walk-behind mower. A stand on lawn mower with a floating-deck may also feature a wider cut width and higher horsepower engine, enticing one to buy it over a ride

get priceEmail ContactWhen it comes to replacing your lawn mower deck, there are a few mission-critical factors. Here’s what you need to know. All lawnmower engines are interchangeable. The engine mounting points are standard. So you can easily remove any engine and fit it to another deck. However, while all engines are interchangeable, it doesn’t follow that all mower decks are
get priceEmail Contact05/06/2018 I love the floating deck for the ease of HOC adjustment. Just be aware that with the belt drive, the reverse is an “assisted” reverse. Meaning, when the transmission is in reverse, the operator has to pull the unit backward to “assist” with the movement of the unit. This is true for mine, not sure if that is true for the JDWG32A. I don’t ever shift the transmission to reverse on
